Clearly this blog needs to be re-activated
Sadly I have just looked at the latest TAC accounts and they are indeed enough to drive you to drink. On all measures TAC is drawing ever closer to bankruptcy. No amount of positive spin around the re-financing can hide the fact that the club continues to lose members and operate at unsustainable losses. Recent attempts to get members at Yen 800K joining fee is a sad testament to that fact. Like all good bureaucracies we note that the cost of labor still remains above USD 20m. Nero on the balcony rings a s true today as it did when those paragons of virtue consigned the future of TAC to Mitsubishi.

TAc continues to run an operating loss of approximately USD6m per annum. How long this is sustainable is anyone's guess. BTW, I was recently on a flight to Haneda and sat next to someone who used to work at TAC. Her comment was that everyone in TAC management used to read this blog and amazingly noone could fault the facts!
the people that casued the problem (financial) for TAC are the very people that are still on the board. The people making the decision are mostly headhunters, junior staff in sub standard moving companies who have no buisness experience except sticking it in other people`s. Tey need some heavy hitters to make decision, stand by them and be responsibile if things go tits up. Since they are unaccountable for OPM (Other People`s money) they can really do as they like, apply their predjuices to people becoming members or not and basically run it like their own personal fiefdom. They have to get to the middle of the rotten core and cut it out otherwise TAC is doomed.
What's an acceptable labor cost then that would satisfy such operations, in your professional opinion(s)? (that would also provide the staffing levels for the services expected within the club and business)
And as the previous post mentioned, the people of the BoG who make decisions with no responsibility, I wish I could live life like that, but I know on the flip side that from talking with the staff and management over the years that the Club employees feel VERY responsible in ensuring our Club survives (and these people only work there, they have no investment interest...)
